Full Overview
To taste chef-owner Jean Paul Desmaison’s melding of Mediterranean and Peruvian flavors is to experience culinary alchemy. Jean Paul’s House Restaurant & Market, on the edge of the emerging gallery district, is a cozy space set inside a 1920s bungalow. At night, the lighting is dim with jazzy lounge music to set the mood. This is a happening urban oasis, where locals and in-the-know travelers come for simple, substantial dishes with verve. Two such examples: the octopus drizzled with roasted garlic, thyme and red pepper sauce and scallops in tomato ragu with cannellini beans and grilled ciabatta.
